JYP Tour - Wonder Girls

So this was probably the second concert I've been to, the first being the Video Games Live tour in Hollywood Bowl. I didn't know/care much about the other artists, my main reason for coming was to see Wonder Girls perform live. And it was worth it.

I got to the Wiltern way too early (around 7ish) so I went across the street to a Starbucks-like place. Not sure what it was called, but it had WiFi for AT&T customers. So I took out my iPhone and IM'ed people until 8, then I went to line up. The pictures will seem kind of low quality because all I had with me was my iPhone and and old camera that died on me.

This is the Wiltern. It looks pretty crappy and small, but the insides pretty big.

Wonder Girls!!

This was the main entrance. It looks similar to the theater where they held the Super Smash tourney.

The first thing that struck me was how small this concert is compared to the NY one and the ones in Korea. I'd say there were about... 500 seats total. But in a way, it's a good thing because no matter where you sat, you'd be pretty close to the stage. I wasn't paying much attention to the first few artists but their songs weren't bad, just.. not that good either. Then I heard the Tell Me melody and I instantly jumped up as if I pumped myself full of adrenaline. After showing a short video of how crazy the Tell Me fever is in Korea, Wonder Girls appeared on stage.

Thanks to silverfire302 at the soompi forums for taking such a gorgeous shot. I wish I had your camera when I went..

They first performed Irony, then 가져가 and finally Tell Me. I was seated kind of near the back with all the ahjussis and ahjumas (older adults 40+) so they weren't really chanting along.

Here's a great fancam of the Tell Me perf. I think I was sitting behind the guy who recorded it. Small world eh?

Towards the end of the concert, when JYP was performing his last few songs. The entire place was just going crazy. Lights were blinding my eyes and the music deafening. And everybody stood up and started singing along. It was insane.

Needless to say, that was one of the happiest days of my life. Now if only Wonder Girls would attend the Korean Music Festival, which I'll be covering as well.

Expensive ticket, but oh so worth it.

Damn I'm so jealous! I wish we had concerts like this here in Sweden too. We only get J-rock bands T_T
